The carpets called “frieze” or “shaggy” are carried out with synthetic yarns of a particular twist and heat set to provide a permanent frieze effect.

To produce « frieze » carpets, the yarn is treated in a friezing machine called MF4. This machine is inserted just before the heat-setting process, at line inlet.
